LIVERPOOL have been told they can buy goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, but only if they meet Stoke’s valuation of £12million.

The Independent are reporting that Stoke City are prepared to let Begovic leave the club this summer, after rumours linking him with Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Bosnia international was one of few positives for the Potters this season, as they finished just 6 points above the drop zone.

Liverpool have been linked with the 25-year-old, with the future of current ‘keeper Pepe Reina in doubt. Reina has been linked with a move to Barcelona, and the Reds have identified the Stoke shot-stopper as the ideal replacement should the Spaniard leave Anfield.

Begovic joined Stoke in 2010, where has become one of the top rated goalkeepers in the league, keeping 12 clean sheets this season.

Chairman Peter Coates has revealed that the club would not get in Begovic’s way if he wanted to leave the club, as long as their valuation was met.

Liverpool have also been rumoured to be monitoring Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. The Belgian kept 11 clean sheets for the Black Cats last season, as they too struggled to survive in the Premier League.

Begovic is expected to feature for Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, as his nation face Latvia in a World Cup Qualifier.
