Sundaerland Belgium keeperLIVERPOOL target Simon Mignolet could be sold this summer after ruling out signing a new contract, according to The Independent.

The Belgian ‘keeper has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal this summer, and his agent has revealed Mignolet wants to move to a bigger club.

“Simon has obviously come to a point where he wants to step up a level and there is a lot of interest in him. He is very ambitious and wants to play in the World Cup, in Brazil, next year.” said agent Nice Vaesan.

“It was a good thing that Sunderland stayed up and it is a fantastic club where he has had three great years but it is maybe time to step up a level and play for a club competing for a European spot.

“All teams that are interested in Simon, we direct them to Sunderland. He still has a two-year contract there and any interested clubs have to agree a price with Sunderland first. That is the way we conduct our business.”

The Belgian goalkeeper has been linked with Liverpool, with Pepe Reina’s future at the club in doubt. The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Barcelona, and Brendan Rodgers could bring in Mignolet as his replacement, should Reina leave the club.

Mignolet finished the season with 11 clean sheets to his name, as Sunderland just avoided relegation from the Premier League.
