Mkhitaryan Fee Agreed

Armenia LFCACCORDING to various news reports in Russia and the UK, Liverpool Football Club have agreed a fee with Ukrainian Champions, Shakhtar Donetsk, regarding the transfer of three times Armenian Footballer of the Year, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Russian news outlet Sports Express has reported that a fee of around £25m (€30m) has been agreed between the two clubs, and that Mkhitaryan will be unveiled as a Liverpool player within the next 72 hours, subject to a medical.

Meanwhile, FutbolTV has also reported that Mkhitaryan is set to become a Red, stating that the player will arrive in Liverpool to complete his medical, possibly on Monday, following the arrival of his agent, Italian, Mino Raiola.

Reports had been circulating in Germany over the last few days that Dortmund were keen on taking Mkhitaryan to the Bundesliga, however the reports in Bild appear to have been a re-hashing of an earlier attempt by the Champions League finalists to prize the highly rated attacking midfielder from Shakhtar, their €23m bid having been rejected some time ago. The leaked story looks to have served its purpose though, by prompting Liverpool to act decisively in hammering out a deal good enough to finally land their target.

With personal terms believed to have been, at the very least, discussed, if not already agreed, there would appear to be little remaining which could scupper the proposed deal at this late stage.

With that in mind, it seems more than likely that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be officially unveiled as a Liverpool player by Wednesday at the very latest.

  • Terry Wogan says:

This transfer is now getting boring, it’s been dragging on too long. We should just forget about him and look for players with less hassle involved. For 25 million we could be getting two or three good quality players for the TEAM.

Name them. You need some exceptional players in your team and to get them you need to compete and also spend cash. Do u wanna buy a Downing always? If a passive fan like u is saying this what should those actively involved in the negotiations say? Thank goodness you don’t run Liverpool you loser. In Bredan Rodgers and Ian Ayre we trust.

So is this transfer about henrikh really going happen for us lfc on 3 days

  • Oliver Evans says:

This really would be an excellent signing, if we could also get in 1 top rate centre back i fancy us making a push for the title. We don’t need to sell suarez just cut the current squad ie. shelvey, downing, spearing, coates, reina. Exciting times ahead.

  • slim says:

Whether Suarez stays or leaves Mkhitaryan wll be signed meaning we may get Alvaro Morata plus £35m for Suarez(realistcally). 5m from shelvey, 10 from skrtel, 10 for reina, 12 for downing meaning we have about £72m to spend on the team in the next windows. Papadopoulus, and others on the way then.

  • ako says:

It wud be a good signing if we cud get henrikh but more chance of it snowing £50 pound notes lol

  • Kamster says:

Henrik sounds like a quality player…. who creates and scores….. BR has done well with the money he has….. He should get around £27m from Carrol, Shelvey, Spearing and the 35% sell on for Tom Ince…. If we can get £8-10m for Downing…. then we would have done well. £35m in and we have spent £48.5 approx. on Aspas, Alberto, Mingulet and Henrik whilst Toure was free…..

Next year will be make or break for BR, but I hope for something special clicks…. The signings seem well thought out unlike previous years. The shopping has been done early doors and with everyone getting in a good preseason we can get firing.
