LiverpoolACCORDING to The TelegraphLiverpool legend Robbie Fowler believes that returning striker Luis Suarez has run out of chances at the club and must behave himself to reward the loyalty of the Kop faithful.

Suarez, who is likely to return tonight for Liverpool’s Capital One Cup third-round tie against Manchester United, has completed his 10 match suspension given for his biting incident with Chelsea defender, Branislav Ivanovic, last season.

However, Suarez had landed himself in hot water before said incident, incidentally against Manchester United, in  when he was forced to miss eight games and shell out £40,000 after racially abusing Patrice Evra.

Fowler, nicknamed ‘God’ during his successful spell at Anfield, when asked if he believed the 26 year old had something to prove to the team and fans alike, said:

“Without a doubt. He has let a lot of people down, including himself.

“The club have stood by him, so have the Liverpool supporters, and you can see why because he is a phenomenal player and you want phenomenal players in your side.”

Fowler also touched on the summer of speculation regarding Suarez’s future at the club, a summer in which Arsenal had two formal bids rejected and Suarez himself stated a desire to leave on several occasions.

Fowler said: “I know in the summer it looked like he was leaving and quite rightly Liverpool expected a bit of loyalty back off him and thankfully he is still a Liverpool player.

“I don’t think he’ll get many more chances but I don’t think he will be doing anything remotely as silly as he has.”

Fowler has enjoyed a terrific record with the Reds, having scored 183 goals in 369 games.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.
