Philippe-Coutinho-LiverpoolLiverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers is ready to unleash Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho in the game versus Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next weekend, reports The Liverpool Echo.

23 year old Coutinho was back in training at Melwood last week after his rehabilitation from the shoulder injury that has kept him out for the past six weeks.

Although Coutinho is still restricted and unable to get involved in full contact training, Reds boss Rodgers cannot wait to have the chance to unleash him against The Gunners.

“It’s brilliant to have Philippe back out with the group but he’s still restricted,” Rodgers said.

“He has only joined in with the team on a non-contact basis. This weekend will probably come too soon for him but he’s not far away. He has been doing a lot of physical work and is in decent condition but with the nature of the injury we have to be careful with his shoulder.

“Next week he should be OK. It’s just a case of getting him up to speed in training.

“You always miss someone of his quality and it will be great to have him back. Over the last couple of days he has looked brilliant. It’s like he has never been away with his flow and fluency with the ball.”

on a lighter note where did rodgers haters over the summer go to I’d like to see them swallow their pride and accept they were either wrong or other team’s undercover trying decieve us in their rodgers out campain.

Strange they only seem to comment when we play badly or lose. What’s the point in that.

Probably using different names now when posting. Claiming to be BR fans since they have been proven wrong. That or they have taken a little more time than the rest of us to become ‘ brainwashed ‘

  • Birikorang Enoch says:

It’s great to have him back into our squad.

  • Odama Alfred says:

Briliant information,we have been waiting 4 him 2 add more flair 2 team.

  • carlton says:

Plz br! Unleash him on the gooners…

  • stevie says:

Anybody would think we’d lost our 5 games since he got injured. We haven’t. The side is playing well at the moment so I don’t see why we’re desperate to get him in the team against arsenal. Last 20 mins maybe

  • Tino says:

Lets dont rush him,we can still beat da gooners lets give him mo tym 2 recover well coz we still nid in da next coming fixtures

  • samson says:

pls br let him come 4rm bench nd finich arsenal 4 me

  • columbus says:

Go to a 4-1-2-1-2 to fit coutinho as no 10 and not to defend so deep against someone like arsenal
    Mingolet
    Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Cissokho
    Lucas
    Hendo, Gerrard
    Coutinho
    Suarez, Sturridge

  • Melchizedek says:

    Plz lets think..
Hw will d formation b wit d arrival of coutinho?
    I think we’ll change to 4-4-2 formation.
    Mignolet.
    johnson-toure-skrtel-sakho.
    Hendo-coutinho-lucas-gerrard.
    SAS.
It should work lyk diz or wot do u suggest

    • columbus says:

Too many out of position and were better of leaving johnson and aly to attack the wings rather than trying to use gerrard and hendo on the wings. Also playing lucas behind henderson and stevie in the middle proved our best midfield performance so far

  • Jas says:

Nah, I reckon a 2-1-3-3-2-2 would be better!!
Second thoughts why not leave team selection to The Manager??!!
It would be great to have Coutinho in time for Arsenal. But I’d hate to see them rush him back prematurely.
PS. And YES, I CAN add up!!

  • Martins says:

I will like the manager to go with the 3-5-2 formation. While Countinho come 4rm the bench as a substitute for Henderson.

  • blindside says:

If he is restricted to avoiding “full contact” training it would appear that he is hardly likely to be “unleashed” at any team in the very imminent future. It would be idiocy to have him further crippled by fierce tackling which would undoubtedly on the cards from any opponents! Let’s not be too hasty about this as he is too valuable to take silly chances with.

  • allaboutanfield says:

I would probably expect Coutinho to play in the 2nd half as a sub.
