LIVERPOOL defender Kolo Toure has told the club’s official website that he believes there is ‘no doubt’ that the Reds have enough talent in the squad to achieve Champions League football this season.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have had a fantastic start to this Premiership campaign and are currently sitting in 2nd place on the table, behind Arsenal only on goal difference, after winning 5 out of their first 7 games.
After Liverpool’s game on Saturday, a 3-1 defeat of Crystal Palace at Anfield, Reds’ players disbanded for national duty – allowing the players to show their progress so far this season.
Toure, speaking of the club’s start to the season, said:
“There’s no doubt this squad is good enough to get a Champions League place, we have so many good players and there’s a great mentality here.
“We are at a fantastic club. We need to keep playing well every week and give 100 per cent for our teammates and the fans.
“We’re up there and now it’s very important to try to stay there. A season is like a marathon and there will be plenty of ups and downs.
“We’re happy with where we are but we must keep working hard and try to be as close as possible to the top.”
Liverpool are 2nd in the Premiership, joint on 16 points with Arsenal but with fewer goals scored.
