While one or two transfer rumours have flattered to deceive recently, news this morning that Liverpool are going back to look at another Barcelona player will certainly excite many Liverpool fans.
Having previously been linked to Barca’s Alexis Sanchez (another attacker that Reds fans wouldn’t mind!), Liverpool are now apparently sounding out Barcelona for their Spanish striker, Pedro.
With the Catalan club having missed out on any major honours last season it might seem counter-productive to be showing an interest in their best players but reports indicate that the club would be interested in selling – for the right price – in order to kick on with the overhaul that will no doubt take place at the club under the new coach.
The 26 year old Spanish international has won the lot at Barca, and also with Spain. He’s scored at all levels for Barcelona and has 14 goals for Spain and would undoubtedly bring some incredible experience to Brendan Rodger’s side and, at just 26, would yet to have reached his peak.
It’s unclear what sort of money that Barca would be looking for for Pedro but with Cesc Fabregas being touted at around £40 million, Pedro would probably be available at around £20-25 million.
Would you be happy to see Pedro join Liverpool?
