In one of the more disturbing (and ridiculous) rumours in recent weeks, Liverpool were this morning linked with Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie.
While the 25 year old Congo winger enjoyed an influential game against Liverpool in his side’s 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park in the Reds second to last game of the season, it would seem strange that Rodgers would make a move for Bolasie based on the output of just one game.
Throughout the season, Bolasie failed to score a single goal for Palace and registered just 4 assists in 30 games but would be available for a few million, having just 12 months left on his contract.
While this is one that can more that can almost certainly be put down to boredom on behalf of the originators however, worryingly, Liverpool made the similarly uninspiring purchase of Oussama Assaidi for £3.5 million a couple of seasons ago.
That said, don’t expect to be seeing Bolasie having his pictures taken with Zaf Iqbal at Melwood any time soon!
