The World cup is now in full swing and two players who have had differing successes with their national sides are Alexis Sanchez and Adam Lallana. Both players have been linked with Liverpool with Lallana wanting to force a move to play at Anfield next season.
I initially wanted Adam to join the club as his game suited our way of playing under manager Brendan Rodgers. However as the transfer has dragged on for a while, (and only now seems to be reaching a conclusion) the money which Southampton are wanting could actually be spent on better targets. This is where Sanchez would be the better option.
Employing such an attacking system requires the attacking contingent to defend from the front, as the likes of Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho achieved to great effect last season – epitomised by our performances against Tottenham (home and away) and Arsenal at home.
Statistics comparison between Lallana and Sanchez – 2013/2014 (courtesy of www.squawka.com)

As you can see from the above table Adam won more tackles than the Barcelona forward however Lallana played in four more matches.
In terms of aerial duels, both players were unsurprisingly ineffective. Sanchez won only 21 of his 74 (28% success rate) aerial battles last season, while Lallana fared even worse, triumphing in only 15 out of 56 (27% success rate). Where the Chilean Sanchez really surpasses the Southampton man is his knack for finding the back of the net.
With 19 goals in 34 appearances I cannot understand why Luis Enrique is thinking of allowing him to leave the Nou Camp. Lallana on the other hand scored only nine goals in 38 appearances.
Of course, the talent that Barcelona have at their disposal has helped Sanchez achieve such a high goals return. But if you look at his shot conversion rate alongside Lallana’s it’s obvious that Sanchez is a more natural finisher.
You can see from the matches which Chile have played at the World Cup so far, they have natural ability, pure pace and an eye for goal. In fact Alexis has been involved in 9 of the last 10 goals scored in his national side (scoring 1 and assisting 8).
Also the Chilean’s experience in the Champions League would add that extra bit of magic to our young squad. I feel that Sanchez would be the better fit for Liverpool as he can operate in a multitude of positions providing cover on the wings and pushing Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert for a starting berth up front.
If I was Brendan Rodgers I would break the bank to bring him to Anfield, it would be 30 million pound well spent. Who would you prefer in a Liverpool shirt next season Lallana or Sanchez? Let me know in the comments section.

To b honest i’d ratha have sanchez::lallana has played just one full season of top flight football(just like carroll and aspas b4 we bought them). Furthermore 25m is too much to me d only british players worth more dan 30m is bale and barkley::sanchez has more all round experience at both club and country level
Sanchez is a striker, Lallana is a midfielder. Signing both would be good.
Good one patrick get both of them it will surely profit us all.
I agree Patrick. Lallana will help is maintain possession, control games, probe and create chances through passing. Sanchez can stretch defences, finish, provide width and and create chances through crosses and cut backs.
Totally different players. Lallana will help release the pressure on Coutinho. If the little Magician doesn’t play well, we can struggle. Sanchez AND Markovic can help replace Suarez.
I dont know what is wrong with you people???How can compere statistic for one player, where he play in Barcelona with Messi,Cavi,Iniesta,Neymar and co,and player who plays in Southempton, where thay finish 9th,and that is they success season? Its totaly ridicolus
Mind you dejan they were compared on an individual basis not on a collective one(both teams aside)
We need both of them. They play in different positions and can both help move the team forward.
I agree Sanchez would have been a way better buy than Lallana. Positive is Lallana wants to play for LFC but I don’t think he has the quality we need, heck we have Sterling and he is on the same level or better than what Lallana is now and younger so can improve. When rumors started yesterday saying the Lallana deal was close to completition. I would have stopped the offer at 20million and if they didn’t like it we over 30m for Sanchez. Heck thinking about it the money Southampton has spent they can afford Sanchez. Not happy with the Lallana deal hope that I am wrong. If we do decide to sell Mr Saurez I hope we can strike a deal with Barcelona for Sanchez to be included. Then there is Xherdan Shaqiri don’t know so much about him either.
I tink we should sign both of them they we all b a help mate 2 liverpool, also let us know if suarez is going and rodger should not 2 slow in signing player in dis open window transfer and liverpool board should help rodger as well
To me lallana fee is too much he doesn’t what more dan 15m, if we can get shaqiri instead I will love dat….. As for sanchez, he is a very good player, has much experience. If we can go for him it will add positive to our team
Both will be fantastic together. Lallana is on the way, so get Sanchez now. Sanchez can even play as a striker. Suarez and Sturridge are awesome but one is mischievous and the latter is injury prone. So another attacker besides Lambert is a welcome. And whatever happened to Shaqiri deal?
sanchez is the real deal if we want to go far in the champs league
