Germany & Argentina will contest the biggest trophy in world sport

Well, it’s all down to the final day of the World Cup 2014 – The Finals. It’s going to be Germany to face Argentina in the final clash for the ultimate prize, the golden trophy that weighs five kilograms and is made of 18 carat gold. It’s the trophy that carries millions of hopes. It’s the trophy that every player dreams of winning.

Germany vs Argentina- The Final 2014.

Germany

My money is on the Germans, the reason being that they have been solid as a unit in the attacking front as well as at the back. Another important edge they hold over their counterparts is that all of their key players have chipped in to the winning cause. Their key players have stepped up to the plate and have delivered time and again as we’ve seen for many years. Germany have been unlucky in the recent past to have not won a major international trophy despite reaching final knockout stages with supreme consistency. To take some positive out of that, the Germans know what it takes to not lose in final stages of the tournament! They will come prepared to win against the Argentinians and would surely look to place their hands on the most coveted trophy in Football.

Coach

Joachim Low

He has been the backbone of the German side. He is a master tactician and has got the credentials to be a world cup winning coach. His strategies have been spot on and they have not been threatened much in this tournament. Low and Co are known for their brutal goal scoring run in any tournament and they have not let us down this time again.

Key Players

Neuer, Hummels, Kroos

It’s not easy to shortlist the number of key players since all of them are important to the team setup one way or the other. Neuer is arguably the best goal keeper in the modern era. His uncharacteristic runs outside the box to dictate play from the back speaks volumes about his audacity, calmness, and confidence in front of the goal. Hummels is defensively sound and it will be cruel not to mention his goal scoring abilities in set pieces. Kroos has been brilliant providing key passes and through balls from the midfield and his set piece balls have been nothing less than immaculate.

Player to watch out for..

Muller promises to be a key player for the Germans

Muller promises to be a key player for the Germans

Thomas Muller

FIVE goals to his name in this world cup and TEN overall. He is one of the smartest players I’ve seen in front of the goal. He’s at the right place at the right time and makes life difficult for the opponents’ defense.

Special Mention

Miroslav Klose

It’s the man himself who has culminated the all time goal scorers chart in world cups. He also scored the decisive goal to draw against Ghana in their Group match.

Argentina

Their campaign started not so well as the players seemed to be out of touch and team didn’t gel together. They struggled to score and find open spaces and could have easily slipped out of the tournament if not for their inspirational skipper, Lionel Messi! The previous two knockout stages have been somewhat a positive note for the South American side as they seemed to have found the right combination and the will to fight any opponent. Moreover, this team has never trailed in a match, as of yet. A couple of audacious changes in the starting line up proved crucial in uplifting the team’s performance. Their mettle will be tested against the Germans. Hopefully Messi and Co can lift the priceless trophy.

Coach

Alejandro Sabella

He is a revered man in the Footballing world. His coaching styles have proved successful in the past and his strategies have been unquestionable in this world cup.

The final gives Messi the chance to reaffirm his status as the world's best

Key players

Mascherano, Messi

It’s no doubt that Messi has inspired the South American team to reach the finals. He has scored four times and assisted twice, amongst which one assist came in the 120th minute against Switzerland in knockout phase. He also scored a 90th minute goal against Iran and a decisive goal in their opening group match against Bosnia. Mascherano has been the team’s backbone and is definitely the tournament’s best holding midfielder. He has controlled the match from the midfield and has been exquisite in the defensive areas.

Player to watch out for..

Lionel Messi

Just watch out for him! Hope he brings on his magic.

Without any doubt, the final of the 2014 world cup is going to be breath taking and intense throughout the entire period of play and.. fans, brace yourselves for an action packed night at the Estadio Do Maracana stadium!

Adios.
