It’s none other than the Liverpool marksman Luis Suarez that has got all attention in the past few days, not for scoring goals this time, but for his infamous act of biting a fellow player on the pitch for which he was slapped with a four month ban (and then being on the verge of a move to Barca). It could be an act of aggression or his way of venting out anger but the real reason will be an unsolved riddle. Just over a year ago, Suarez was involved in a similar incident, biting Ivanovic of Chelsea, for which he was given a ban of ten matches. What followed was unfortunate for Liverpool as Suarez threatened to leave the club.
Suarez is a lot of things. A person’s childhood determines a lot about their behavior. He grew up under adverse conditions. His family was poor and he had siblings to take care of. He cleaned floors and did petty chores for money. Football was his heartbeat. He took comfort from playing football day in and day out. He had scored 67 goals for his local club Nacional to win the championship so that he could be scouted by a European club just to be with his girlfriend who was in Europe then.
After a lot of research on Suarez, the only thing that’s obvious about him is his hunger to succeed. So, people can vituperate him and his aggressive mentality and judge him all they want who understands what is beneath that tough skin of Liverpool’s No.7?!
His hunger to win is unparalleled. That makes him the most dangerous striker in all of Europe. He is the backbone of the Liverpool strike force that had scored over 100 goals last season. With Suarez being on the verge of leaving Anfield, Rodgers must have a rethink, unless he can somehow hang on to his talisman.
Liverpool’s style of play revolves around Suarez, he is crucial to Rodgers’ ideologies and tactics and it’s imperative Liverpool hold onto him. Liverpool’s legends such as Kenny Dalglish have extended their support saying the club would not turn its back on one of their own. With 30+ plus goals and 10+ assists last season, there are not many who can replace him to lead Liverpool’s attack.
Luis Suarez should get his act together and carry on his form from last season and play with the same intensity when he is back from the ban and bolster the Reds to another colorful season.
Pls let the club do all they can to hold on to him. Not minding anything that people may say about him
I agree wholeheartedly with your views and like you hope we can keep him no matter how much we get for him it would not be enough to buy a replacement if one was available, and seeing the results of us trying to buy decent players (they don’t want to play for us) preferring to go to the Manure, Arsenall, Chelski and Chity.
I would put money on us finishing in 6th place next season and below the bluenoses if we lose Suarez.
Pls Fenway sport should try all they can to kip Suarez, if he is nt good because of his biting incident then why is a top club like Barca be interested in signing him? Pls let’s not make the same mistake we made by selling Alonso to Real Madrid $ till today his position has been a problem to replace.
Suarez is one of the complete striker in the world. He is only being judge by his indifferently act and people just make an issue out of it.But they forgot that he has broken most the records last season and have may awards on his name..not for bad action…BUT FOR A GOOD FOOTBALL PLAYER.Suarez is a world class striker and deserved to be and remained in a prestigious club..LIVERPOOOL FC.
hate, loath, love him… He will still remain luis suarez…. I LOVE HIM… but thought we wld be getting £100mil from madrid for him this season, if barca can get £80mil flat, i think we should sell… i have a feeling he cant replicate last seasons form; though he is suarez nd thrives under pressure (liverpool has a way of coping without d names we ve made)…. i wldnt swap him for any player but suarez has “this dream” of playing at the “utmost echelon” of world football and at present only Real nd barca can offer him that…. i can bet that liverpool fans wld only come 2nd to uruguay fans in his heart but his personal goals are too important for him to neglect….
