Let’s not dwell on the loss against Manchester City at the Etihad. The best the fans can do is to take positives out of the game. The manager and the players have to restore confidence in themselves to perform away from home (against Spurs) and take maximum points out of it. Liverpool wAlill face Spurs in the coming week away from home and a bit more in the way of a positive performance is demanded from the players.

Firstly, the fixture against City at the Etihad is cruel especially since it’s the second game of the season. Manchester City would have faced a similar situation had they faced Liverpool at Anfield. Errors are part and parcel of a game. City were a bit shrewed in the attacking front and took advantage of minor defensive lapses.

But the fans can be happy about how Liverpool approached the game. They played and fought hard for every ball. Few new signings showed why they are world class players. Alberto Moreno, who though made a costly error leading to the first goal, was brilliant at left back and made audacious runs on the left flank.

Markovic was nothing but an immense energy from the word go as soon as he was brought in. Emre Can too proved he cope with high pressure and neatly played out his role. These performances are definite positives to consider when we face Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Balotelli too has joined the squad to bolster the Liverpool attack. This is some good news for the fans. It is, right?

Rodgers will put together the right squad to take possible three points in the upcoming fixture. A good start is very important on the course to challenge for the title and all three points is what we need in the remaining fixtures till end of next month.All
