Liverpool Player Ratings vs Ludogorets

|

Goalkeeper/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Mignolet had one or two saves to make, which he did well – as he always does – but when it came to the other aspects of what makes a top-class goalkeeper, the Belgian stopper failed miserably again. At the moment, Brendan Rodgers will hopefully have Victor Valdes’ agent on the phone as, even if he arrives to simply gives Mignolet a kick up the behind, something needs to change. Rating – 4

Javier Manquillo – A clear improvement on what we’d come to expect from Glen Johnson – once again – and, while he may not be as offensive as his counterpart at left-back, Manquillo offers a great deal of solidity at right-back. Hugely unlucky not to grab his first goal. Rating – 7

Mamadou Sakho – Sakho currently looks out of sorts, and last night’s game was no different. One minute he’s exquisite, the next he’s playing a teammate into trouble. As with Lovren, great improvement is needed. Rating – 6

Dejan Lovren – The most expensive defender in Liverpool’s history has yet to convince many and last night’s display won’t have helped as, like Sakho, his lack of consistency through 90 minutes goes from the sublime to the ridiculous. While it’s unfair to overly criticise either members of a new partnership, it is hugely worrying that there is such a lack of balance at the back at the moment, and if supposed minnows Ludogorets can exploit that, which they so often did, then we should be worried. Martin Skrtel can’t come back soon enough. Rating – 6

Alberto Moreno – Moreno just continues to impress. Against Villa at the weekend he was one of few to come out of the game with any credit and last night he was easily one of Liverpool’s best players. Constantly providing an outlet and with a thunderous cross and shot, he is resembling a young John Arne Riise more and more each game. Unlucky not to provide a couple of assists but will do so many times this season.  Rating – 8 – Man of the Match

I’ll go with those ratings. Manquillo was a close 2nd.

We need to play 2 upfront. Ballotelli struggled upfront on his own. He isn’t reading passes from coutinho and that has to improve.
Mignolet ? Bad investment. Pure and simple. Should have stuck with Reina …. Valdes can’t come soon enough . As for lalana looking rusty? Work on the training ground son. This isn’t southampton where 45 points are a good season…giving you time to sharpen on the pitch whist offering nothing.
Let’s be honest here. The last 4 games have been bad! Spurs aside, we look devoid of ideas upfront and defensively shambles.
Moreno, manquilo look solid but bar that, I see no positives. Big improvement needed started from west ham away. Lose that, and confidence will suffer.

Why should you let reina go?poor investment by rodgers and the board of directors, and i do think their ambitions on liverpool is poor, surplus players and they can’t even play rodgers philosophy, they are dull.liverpool will struggle this season with no top four.you should be careful rodgers, else you will lose your job.we the fans don’t want liverpool to go down and we will stand by liverpool.

Our last two matches have shown that we did a very poor summer business. As you can see, the 20m spent on lovren is a big waste – he is way off the standard – continually out of position. IMO, Agger and kolo Toure are miles better than him. The most annoying is the 20m paid on Markovic – he is only but an amateur – even, Jordon ibe is ten times better him. Steven G, apart from his penalty duties, is now the most ineffective player in our team. In the summer, we need to sign a support to SG but, instead, we went and signed a wrestler in the person of emre can. We could have used Markovic money to sign Alex Song who would have impacted heavily to our team. Now, we need a top creative midfilder and a DM in the winter.
