GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – A player who will undoubtedly benefit from the momentum of playing regularly and should be given a start in a game that has a high likelihood of giving the team another clean sheet; it’s all about confidence.

Emre Can – There’s the potential to over-play a young player but Can, as well as being physically capable of managing a few games in a week, hasn’t played much until recently and should be allowed to continue his good form.

Dejan Lovren – Many are plumping for Glen Johnson to step in at the back but playing a midfielder as a centre back and then slotting a off form right-back in there too is just a recipe for disaster, so Lovren should get the nod.

Mamadou Sakho – As is the case with Can, Sakho will be relishing a run of games and it will help him to continue to work toward top form.
