With Liverpool struggling for goals at times this season, it’d be highly surprising in the summer if the club wasn’t to invest a hefty sum on some new attacking options in the summer. However, there is already one hot prospect winging his way to Anfield after his loan spell at Lille: a certain Divock Origi, and the player himself appears to be very excited for the move himself.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Liverpool keeper, Simon Mignolet, has spoken about how the young Belgian striker is looking forward to his big move to Anfield in the summer. He said: “When I spoke to him about the pre-season tour, the city, the club, Anfield and the supporters, he was really excited to come over.

“I have spoken with him a fair few times about next season, pre-season and how he is going to settle in – not only at the club, but also in the city.

“He is looking forward to the pre-season tour and asked me what that’s about because he’s heard many things about that, and I told him no different.

“He’s looking forward to next season and I think he’ll be ready for the team when he comes in.”

The 19 year old hasn’t had a great season for Lille but considering his young age, and lack of real first team football before last season, it’s actually his best season to date, purely in terms of goals scored with 8 in all competitions.

As talented as youngster may be, it’s clear that he still has a lot to learn however, and Liverpool will be hoping for a much more impressive goals return once the player properly settles and will no doubt be looking to Mignolet to ensure the player settles in without any problems.
