As the 10th anniversary of Liverpool FC’s dramatic Champions League win against AC Milan in Istanbul approaches, LFCTV GO will mark the occasion with a dedicated Istanbul video collection and the launch of a 5 day all-access pass that can be purchased from midday today (Thursday 21 May) until Tuesday 26 May.
Bank Holiday Monday will mark exactly a decade since the Reds stunned AC Milan at the Ataturk Stadium, recovering from a three-goal half-time deficit to dramatically claim the Champions League on penalties. To celebrate fans will have 5 days access to LFCTV GO and the Istanbul anniversary collection which includes the chance to relive all the excitement from that famous night ten years ago with a showing of the uncut Champions League final match, all for just £2! Reliving the 2005 UCL Final in real-time and in its purest form as it was beamed by satellite to broadcasters worldwide: no commentary,no hype just the raw footage of the most dramatic night in LFC’s history.
Also exclusively available as part of the pass is ‘One Night in Istanbul’, a film that charts the hilarious tale of two down-on-their-luck taxi drivers from Liverpool who strike an unusual agreement with a local gangster in order to get their tickets for the match. The film will be shown every 90 minutes from 11:59pm Friday until 11:59pm Monday.
Throughout the anniversary period more great features will be added to the collection, including the Story of the Day which takes a look at all the build-up, the best of the action and extended celebrations on one of the most thrilling days in the club’s history.
The collection also includes a brand new feature, ‘Carragher’s LFCCTV’, which takes a look at Carragher’s contribution on the iconic day with an in depth view of his time on the pitch and a new Istanbul themed episode of #LFCWORLD, the club’s weekly magazine show, including the thoughts of AC Milan’s captain at the time, Paolo Mandini.
