With the hunt for a new striker still ongoing, Liverpool may soon have another vacant space in the team, with the likely exit of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City.
And today, the rumour mill is claiming that Liverpool have been in contact with Barca star Pedro about the possibility of a move to Anfield this summer.
The 27 year old Spanish attacker has long been pursued by Premier League teams but has always stayed put, seemingly content to win silverware at Barcelona, whilst remaining a bench player, primarily.
The 51-times capped international has also recently signed a new long-term contract at the Nou Camp but it seems he may no be considering his future, and he appears to believe that will be at another club.
Barcelona newspaper SPORT are reporting that Pedro is much more likely to move this summer and, despite PSG and Arsenal also showing interest, Liverpool have supposedly been in contact about the player’s availability.
The Barca man won’t come cheap however, and having not long ago committed to a new contract his club will be in a position of strength when any clubs come to them with a bid.
Despite never really being a first choice at the club, Pedro has still managed to amass an impressive 318 games for the club, with 98 goals and a trophy haul that would make most clubs weep so there’s no doubting his ability and pedigree but whether Liverpool would be willing to make a move for such a high-profile player who is likely to cost upwards of £25 million remains to be seen.
