Lallana is excited to get down to work with his new manager

Considering the hype and excitement surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s appointment it’s easy to forget that he’s yet to take his first proper training session with those players not on international duty since the start of last week.

Fans and journalists alike have spent the last four days expressing their excitement in as many ways as possible, and it seems that now even the Liverpool players are getting caught up in it all.

Despite being on international duty with England, and likely to start tonight, Adam Lallana can’t wait to get back to Anfield to work with his new manager.

Speaking on the subject, via the Liverpool Echo, Lallana said: “I am excited, very excited, to work with the new manager.

“I saw the press conference and, like everyone at the press conference and the reaction he is getting, it is going to be exciting.

“I have obviously got one more game with England and I am fully focused on it, but I am excited to get back to the club afterwards.”

The 27 year old is likely to start for England tonight and may get a chance to play with his Liverpool team mates James Milner and Danny Ings.

And while this will allow the new manager a chance to take a look at some of his players, it’ll be on returning to Melwood after the match that will be most crucial for the players wanting to make an impression.

Klopp should have a good 2-3 days to assess his players prior to the visit to Spurs on Saturday and the likes of Lallana will be hoping to make enough of an impression to win a chance to start.

I believe lallana wasn’t well utilised since he’s joined liverpool under Brendan Rodgers…lots hope he proves himself with klopp in charge, he hasn’t really played the fantastic football he did for southampthon. But I believe he’s a fantastic squad player in a liverpool team!
