Player Ratings: LIVERPOOL 2-1 Bordeaux

|
Toure had a shaky game at the heart of the defence

Toure had a fairly solid return to the side tonight

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Just when you think Mignolet might have turned a corner and be building on some solid performances, he goes and does.. that. You have to feel for Simon, but then you also have to wonder whether Grobbelaar might have a point. Poor, very poor. Rating – 4

Nathaniel Clyne – Solid enough from Clyne, without being spectacular. That seems to have been the theme of the full back’s season so far. An assist for Benteke’s goal was a nice cap on a good game for him.  Rating – 6.5

Kolo Toure – You can’t completely blame Toure for looking a rusty at times, he after all thrown in again after spending most of the season on the bench due to Skrtel’s absence. But he is in the squad for his experience and for occasions such as when your two main centre backs are out. In that regard, he had a decent game, making more clearances than the rest of the defence combined. Rating – 6

Dejan Lovren – The equal of Toure and did little wrong, in truth. Has clearly gained in confidence since Klopp’s arrival but was very lacking in the air tonight. Rating – 6

Alberto Moreno – Was more active in the opposition half than Clyne but never quite looks as assured when neither Skrtel or Sakho (or both) are at the back. . Rating – 6.5
