The Italian has again been linked with a move to Anfield

With the transfer window now officially open, and Liverpool’s players doing their collective best impression of a team facing relegation, most of us will find it hard to stomach if the whole month goes by without a single signing being made.

But if you take in to account the sheer number of rumours and stories per day, somewhere in there, there has to be a grain of truth and the latest rumours emerging from Italy make for very interesting reading.

According to GazettaWorld, both Guiseppe Rossi and Mario Suarez could be on their way to Anfield this January, with both players becoming increasingly at odds with the current manager Paulo Sousa who has given Suarez only a handful of games since he signed from Atletico in the summer.

The Spanish midfielder spent most of his career at Atletico where he played for five seasons, amassing over 170 games, and will not be impressed with the complete lack of games since he joined the club. Suarez would certainly add some real grit and fight to the Reds midfield and he would represent a very smart signing, if it comes to something.

Meanwhile, Rossi has found his game time limited this season, with the Fiorentina boss instead preferring to use the talents of Nikola Kalinic as the team’s first choice centre forward.

The reports are that the striker has even gone as far as to take a pay-cut to help the club out but may be at the end of his tether after seeing limited time on the field. Liverpool have shown an interest in Rossi in the past, but now could be the prime opportunity to bring in a very good, mobile striker at what should be the peak of his powers.

On paper, it would seem strange for the Reds to bring in two 28 year olds from the same club, particularly as both are struggling to get on the field. But Klopp has taken players from clubs in the past where they weren’t fancied, and both have proven previously that they have plenty to offer.

Would you take either player in January, or should Liverpool cast their eyes elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts below.
