If you’d heard Brendan Rodgers talking about having wanted to sign Ashley Williams during his time as Liverpool manager over the weekend (as if we didn’t already know that!), reading that the club are reportedly looking at a Swansea player may have you worried.

But fear not, as reports this morning claim that Liverpool are keen on Swansea’s Andre Ayew (according to the Telegraph), who joined the Welsh side in the summer. It isn’t the first time Liverpool have been linked with the Ghana wide player, after questions were raised as to why Liverpool took their interest no further when the 26 year old was available on a free transfer over the summer.

Ayew is currently enjoying a good season for Swansea scoring 7 goals in 20 games from a wide position. Unlike most of his team mates, the wide man has impressed in a season where the team have struggled and found themselves pulled into a relegation battle.

It is this fact that may sway things in Liverpool’s favour. Particularly as the player didn’t raise any concerns after a £10 million bid from fellow strugglers Sunderland was rejected. Should Liverpool put forward their interest, it’s likely the player would be keen.

Away from the Premier League, and Liverpool are apparently chasing Ajax’s next young star, Anwar El Ghazi (via L’Equipe). The 20 year old is highly thought of in Holland, and is impressing again in the Eredivisie after a superb debut season.

El Ghazi was Ajax’s ‘Talent of the Year’ in 2015, having originally been destined for the reserves, the winger played his way into a first team spot and never looked back, scoring 10 goals in his debut season. The youngster has also played twice for his country already this season.

The 20 year old has also been linked with AC Milan, so Liverpool will need to fight off interest from Italy for the young player who has already scored 8 times this season.

At the moment, a goal-scoring midfielder or winger is exactly what the Reds could do with and El Ghazi’s talent could really add something different to the Liverpool attack.

Should the Reds move for either of these players and, if so, who would be your preference? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
