Liverpool’s player will be hoping for similar celebrations on Sunday
With Liverpool looking to further the club’s record in the league cup on Sunday by adding a record ninth trophy to the haul, it’s a good time to look back at some of our most memorable finals (hint: all of our choices are wins).
Liverpool fans have taken a fair bit of stick in recent years for harking back to a better time when we won everything, but what’s the point in having a history as glorious and extensive as our own if you can reminisce, and gloat, about it occasionally?
As Reds, we’re in a very privileged position of having won the league cup so many times that we can choose a top five wins in the competition. Let’s hope that we add another contender to our list of greatest league cup final wins tomorrow.
