Liverpool Ladies Football Club was welcomed to the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg for a special tour.
The Reds are currently on the Discovery and Liverpool Ladies FC Tour 2016 and visited the Centre of Memory alongside Club Ambassador, Gary McAllister to learn about the legacy of Nelson Mandela and the work of the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory CEO Sello Hatang was presented with a special signed shirt by the squad and commented; “It is fantastic to be able to welcome Liverpool Ladies FC and Gary McAlister to the centre to find out more about the legacy of Nelson Mandela.
“The players were really interested in the centre and hopefully they found the tour beneficial in learning about the real story of Madiba.”
Liverpool Ladies manager Scott Rogers said: “It was a real privilege to have the opportunity to visit the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory and learn more about the history and teachings of Nelson Mandela.
“It was a really educational and insightful visit for the players and we would like to thank the centre for allowing us the opportunity to learn more about such a worldwide icon.”
