The transfer window may have closed, but don’t think you’ll be escaping the occasional transfer update. And somewhat predictably, the club are being linked with another striker overnight, with Real Madrid youngster Jese Rodriguez the latest to have reportedly sparked an interest from Liverpool.

The 22 year old has been at Real his entire career – to date – but has yet to really nail down a regular place in the squad, despite having played over 70 games for the first team over the past three seasons.

Jese has been largely impressive in Madrid’s B side, scoring 34 goals in little over 80 games and was promoted to the first team squad in 2013 where he has since scored 14 times.

But for a player that turns 23 in a few weeks, the Spanish forward will no doubt know that the next few months are make or break for him and Jurgen Klopp is apparently keen to take the player off the Spanish side’s hands. At least that’s according to Fichajes.net. The news outlet reports that Liverpool attempted to bring the player to Anfield in January but are more interested in a summer move for the player.

Real Madrid will reportedly want around £15 million for the player, so it remains to be seen whether the club will sanction a move for a player that has struggled to really make the breakthrough in La Liga.

Have you seen Jese play, and would he be a good acquisition for Liverpool? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
