The 41 year old has been hand-picked by Klopp to head his new look fitness team
It isn’t the big signing that many fans will have been expecting from Bayern but the signing of the German giant’s world class fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer will be a huge bonus for the club going into Klopp’s first full season in charge.
The 41 year old has spent the best part of his career at Bayern Munich, having spent a decade at the club and, after spending the past 6 years working with the first team, is looking for a new challenge in the summer.
Liverpool’s former fitness coach, Ryland Morgan, left the club a few weeks ago and Klopp was no doubt eager to bring his own man on board and there can surely be few better in Europe to add to a very strong-looking backroom staff.
According to the Liverpool Echo Kornmayer will be with the club ahead of the training camp arranged for July in the USA before the Reds get started on the club’s three pre-season friendlies as part of the tour of the States.
It’s highly unlikely that the German coach will be the last addition to the club from the Bundesliga but it is certainly a very positive one and demonstrates Klopp’s desire to bring in only the best for Liverpool moving forward.
