The German manager is very pleased with his first signing
Marko Grujic – Perhaps even more obvious that Markovic, but big things are expected of Marko Grujic, who is currently loaned back to his former club for the remainder of the season.
Grujic is considered to already have many of the qualities that Klopp looks for in a player and, at just 20, still has time to be worked into a top class midfielder by the Liverpool manager.
For many back in the Serbian’s homeland, he is thought of as the ‘new Matic’; quite the compliment indeed, and his height, range of passing an ability on the ball all make that comparison fairly easy to see.
Unlike Matic though, Grujic has quite the eye for goal, scoring 5 times this season in just over 30 games for Red Star, whilst often playing a deeper role. Klopp clearly see the classy young midfielder as having the quality to slip straight into the squad and he will be one of the youngsters to watch next year.
