The Belgian was responsible for Liverpool’s near collapse in the second half

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Following his day off on Wednesday evening, Mignolet reminded us that, should we ever need somebody to throw a result away for us he’s always around to give a helping hand. Typical weakness in the air led to the first goal, whilst he offered nothing for Newcastle’s second. Rating – 3

Connor Randall – A fairly quiet day for the youngster, who was solid – for the most part – at the back but offered little at the opposite end of the field. Rating – 6

Dejan Lovren – The centre back won’t have been happy with the goals conceded but was relatively solid throughout. Rating – 6.5

Kolo Toure – Same as Lovren really, looked solid enough and won’t have thanked the man behind them for his cock-up that led to Newcastle being galvanised and snatching a point they barely deserved. Rating – 6.5

Alberto Moreno – Had little to do, in truth, defensively which may sound a bit daft considering we let two goals in. But Newcastle offered so little he spent much of the game supporting the attack where you could say that technically he assisted both goals. Rating – 7
