Liverpool’s players celebrate the opening goal for Origi

Whilst it may not have been a perfect start for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, with wins away to the likes of Man City and Chelsea being in quite stark contrast to defeat to sides like Crystal Palace, things finally seem to be coming to fruition after months of laying ground work.

Last night saw a strong Liverpool side tear Everton apart in perhaps the most one sided derby in a generation, and all of this started even before Funes Mori tried to snap Divock’s ankle in the second half.

For 43 minutes the Reds probed and poked at Everton looking for the opening before James Milner added two assists to his season tally, one from either side of the box onto the heads of two separate team mates.

After the red early in the second, Klopp allowed his players to go for broke, adding a couple more goals and giving Everton such a pummelling in the process they’ll probably still be having nightmares as they prepare for the semi final on Saturday.

With Rafa and his new charges to come on Saturday, it seems the perfect preparation for the Europa League semi final first leg next week. Oh, and should we get a win on Saturday, winning that competition may not be our only way into next season’s Champions League. Check out our ratings below.
