Spanish side Espanyol would like to take Mario Balotelli on loan next season, according to the Spanish radio station RAC (via Gazzetta World).

The Italian striker is not expected to have his loan deal extended at AC Milan after a injury hit season and La Liga outfit Espanyol are prepared to take a risk on the 25 year old, but only if Liverpool pay most of the player’s wages.

With Jurgen Klopp looking to remould his squad in the summer, the Italian is unlikely to feature in the manager’s plans for next season but it is not certain whether another loan deal (with the Reds being billed for the privilege) would be in the club’s interest.

Reports in the Italian newspaper Tuttosport instead suggest a swap deal with AC Milan’s M’Baye Niang could be on the cards for Balotelli and that scouts from the Reds and Tottenham will be at the Italian Cup final between Milan and Juventus to watch the player in action.
