Mainz goalkeeper Lorus Karius has said he is keeping his options open about a move to the Premier League.

The 22 year old said back in November that he would be  a “dream” to play in England. In a more recent interview with German newspaper BILD however, Karius had this to say about his future:

“Let’s see when the time is right. At the moment I have given it little thought.”

Both the Daily Express and the Daily Mail have linked Karius with a move to Anfield in recent days with the latter stating that the player has a £8million release clause in his contract.

Karius previously had a spell in England with Manchester City when he was 15 before leaving for Mainz in 2011. A stumbling block could be the fact hat Karius wants to play in Europe next season. Mainz have already qualified for the Europa League next campaign while the Reds have to win the Europa League final on Wednesday to get European football in the Champions League.
