Liverpool are tracking Malaga’s Kuki Zalazar, according to the Record newspaper in Portugal. Zalazar has been monitored by Barcelona and the Catalan club have stepped up the chase to sign the 18 year old in recent weeks according to reports in Spain.

Manchester City and Chelsea are also said to be interested in the striker. The player currently plays for Malaga’s B team, Atletico Malagueno and has been playing in Spain’s fourth tier this campaign.

He usually plays as a withdrawn striker and has played for Spain at Under 17 level. Despite playing for Spain, he was born in Montevideo and could still play for Uruguay if he chooses at senior level.

Zalazar signed his first professional contract at Malaga at the age of 16 but it is reported that he has a €6million (£4.75million) release clause written into his contract which could be triggered by the Reds or Spanish rivals Barca if they want the player this summer.
