Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel could move to Italian side Inter Milan, according to one of his representatives.

FCInterNews talked to agent Karol Csonto about the possibility of the Slovak international moving to Italy and he replied:

“Soon we will know something more, I think in a few days. There are several teams, including Inter, which is certainly a distinct possibility. Martin is a great player. Mancini? Let’s talk about a great coach, but as I said there is to wait. not much yet, but one has to wait.”

Liverpool have accepted a bid from Turkish side Fenerbahce believed to be £5.5million for the 31 year old, with Galatasaray, Besiktas and Roma also said to be in the running for the centre back. Currently at the European Championships in France, Skrtel is expected to leave Anfield after 8 and a half years at the Merseyside club.

Skrtel gave a demonstration of the “backs to the wall” type defending he is known for as Slovakia held England to a 0-0 draw on Monday to help his team to likely qualify for the last 16 of the tournament. With Jurgen Klopp already bringing in one defender in Joel Matip and favouring Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure ahead of the Slovak at different points last season, it was clear that his time at the club was over as the manager looks to find players who can play on the front foot and keep a high line at the back; something which is not in Skrtel’s game.
