Roma are leading Inter Milan in the chase for Barcelona full back Aleix Vidal, according to Calciomercato.it. Recent reports in Spain had suggested that the former Sevilla right back had been offered to Liverpool but manager Luis Enrique had decided to keep the player and give him a second chance to impress in the first team.

The 26 year old was only bought last summer for €17million but had to wait until the second half of the season to make his debut for Barca as the Catalan club had a transfer embargo in place.

He could not establish himself in the first team though with Enrique even opting to use midfielder Sergi Roberto at full back to deputise for first choice Dani Alves rather than use Vidal.

With Dani Alves looking likely to leave the Camp Nou for Juventus, it has provided an opportunity for Vidal and he may look to stay at Barca for another year rather than depart for Liverpool or Italy.
