German newspaper Bild believes that Newcastle United are prepared to sell midfielder Moussa Sissoko for between €12m to €15m or £10-12million. L’Equipe have reported that Hamburg have bid for the player but Bild believe they will face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea.
The French international is currently with the France squad at the European Championships, and stated before the tournament that he wants to leave the Magpies after their relegation to the Championship. He said he would like to stay in England but Arsenal would be his preferred destination.
Sissoko moved to St James Park from Toulouse for £1.5million in 2013 and the 26 year old was made captain by manager Rafa Benitez at the end of last season in a bid to avoid relegation. After dropping to the second tier however, it looks likely the attacking midfielder will depart the club although his desire for Champions League football would be an issue for both the Reds and Chelsea.
