Swansea City have made an “official approach” for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen, according to Goal.com. Melissa Reddy, who has been breaking a few exclusives regarding Liverpool recently, believes that the Premier League club want the Welsh international back at the Liberty stadium but the Reds won’t allow him to leave for less than £10million.

The 26 year old has one year left on his contract, and has yet to be offered a new deal to stay at Anfield. He joined the Reds  from Swansea alongside Brendan Rodgers in a £15million deal back in 2012 but has struggled to establish himself in the first team despite receiving praise from Jurgen Klopp last season.

The impending arrival of Piotr Zielinski from Udinese could prove the final nail in the coffin for Allen’s Liverpool career and with Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins publicly declaring the club’s interest in bringing the player back to Wales, the Welsh club’s determination to land Allen looks clear. It will most likely now been down to the two sides agreeing a transfer fee for the midfielder.
