Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has spoken to Lazar Markovic’s agent about the possibility of the Serbian winger moving to Italy, according to La Nazione.
The Italian newspaper believe the Serie A side are looking to replace Cristian Tello who returned to Barcelona after the end of his loan spell with the Viola. The Catalan club are playing hard ball regarding the fee over a permanent transfer for Tello and Fiorentina are looking at other options.
Goal.com revealed yesterday to Fiorentina had been in contact with Markovic’s camp and it has now been confirmed by sources in Italy as well. In Melissa Reddy’s article for goal.com she also reported that Schalke 04 are also looking at Markovic as a replacement for Leroy Sane who is expected to join Manchester City.
Reddy does believe that Markovic has snubbed a return to Portugal to join up with former boss Jorge Jesus at Sporting Lisbon but reports in Portugal say that the move to Sporting is still very much alive.
