Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli could finally be on the way out of the Premier League club, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Italian football transfer expert believes that Ajax will sign the the former AC Milan and Manchester City forward if they qualify for the Champions League group stages.
The financial windfall of reaching the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition would help the Eredivisie side to finance the move for Balotelli and the Dutch club edged closer to that goal after knocking out Greek side PAOK Salonika in the third qualifying round last night.
Ajax drew 1-1 at home in the Amsterdam Arena last week but they managed a 2-1 win in Greece last night after two goals from captain Davy Klaassen secured a place in the next round. If they win their next tie, they will be in the draw for the group stages, securing prize money and the opportunity to sign a replacement for Arkadiusz Milik who departed for Napoli on Monday.
