Liverpool and Arsenal have both been reportedly scouting Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel in recent weeks and according to tuttomercatoweb.com, the interest in the player from both clubs is genuine.
Defrel has been lighting up Serie A with his goals this season with seven so far in nine appearances.The English sides have been seen in the stands at Defrel’s matches for Sassuolo but according to Italian media, both the Reds and the Gunners are now believed to be stepping up their interest further.
Tuttomercato believe Liverpool and Arsenal will set up meetings with the Sassuolo hierarchy in view to making a formal bid for the player.
The 25 year old forward has spent his entire career in Italy despite being born in France and started off his career in Parma’s youth teams before progressing to the senior side.
Defrel then moved on to Cesena before being bought by Sassuolo for an undisclosed fee in August 2015.
