Liverpool are eyeing up a move for Swansea midfielder Leroy Fer, according to calciomercato.com. The Italian website reports that the Dutchman could be a target for the Reds in the January transfer window.

The possibility of a transfer taking place for the 26 year old look fairly slim however as the central midfielder only joined Swansea permanently from QPR in July.

Fer has impressed at the start of this season for the Welsh club with three goals, including one against Chelsea yesterday, but with Jurgen Klopp buying fellow Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer for £25million from Newcastle, and the fact that the Reds are heavily linked to another central midfield player in Mahmoud Dahoud, it would make any move for Fer unlikely.

The Reds have Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, Kevin Stewart, Lucas Leiva, James Milner and Wijnaldum who can all play in the central midfield positions and any interest in Fer would probably be preceded by the departure of a player from the club.
