Liverpool had scouts at the match between Atalanta and Palermo yesterday to watch the highly rated defensive midfielder Franck Kessie, according to L’Eco di Bergamo.
The local newspaper says that scouts from four other English clubs, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea along with other European clubs including Bayern Munich, Sevilla and Monaco were also in attendance for the match.
Kessie joined Atalanta from Ivorian club Stella Club in 2015 but the then 18 year old was immediately loaned out to Cesena on a season long loan deal. He was a regular starter for the Serie B side last season making 37 appearances in all competitions.
He returned to Atalanta in Serie A for the start of the season and has been in sensational form in his first six matches in the first team, scoring five goals including two against Lazio on the opening day of the season in the 4-3 defeat back in August.
