Tottenham Hotspur will look to beat Liverpool to the signing of Fulham’s young left back Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Mirror.
The 16 year old has broken through into the first team under manager Slavisa Jokanovic this season and Spurs are believed to be preparing a £5million for the player in the January transfer window.
Sessegnon is an England U17 international and has made six appearances for the Cottagers so far this campaign, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
He was linked with Liverpool over the summer when the Reds were looking for a young full back to provide competition for Alberto Moreno. Their pursuit of Leicester City left back Ben Chilwell faltered after the Foxes demanded £10million. The Reds were only prepared to pay £7m and the 19 year old subsequently signed a new contract to remain at the King Power Stadium.
Sessegnon may well be an alternative that manager Jurgen Klopp is considering but he may have to move fast if Tottenham step up their chase.
