AIK Solna sporting director Bjorn Wesstrom has confirmed that the club are aware that European elite clubs are tracking their striker Alexander Isak.

The younger Swedish Under 17 international has already been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic by one of his teammates and Wesstrom told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that there had been interest already from clubs abroad:

“We have a good track of everyone who follows Alexander, but I will not comment more than that.”

But when pressed by the reporter about whether any were “big clubs,” Wesstrom responded:

“Absolutely. But we have known for quite some time.”

Aftonbladet for their part have named Real Madrid as the main club scouting Isak at the moment but Italian website tuttomercatoweb.com believe that Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Leicester City and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the 17 year old. When asked about the rumours linking him with Real Madrid, Isak himself said they were “pretty fun” but he wasn’t taking them that seriously. He has scored seven goals so far this season in 20 appearances with AIK sitting third in Sweden’s Allsvenskan league.
