Borussia Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc has told reporters that winger Christian Pulisic will not be offered a new contract to ward off interest from other clubs.

The American star has started the season in a rich vein of form for the German side with one goal and three assists in two starts, but Zorc believes there is enough time remaining on his current deal for it not to be a concern. He is quoted by ESPN FC as saying:

“That’s not an issue right now. He has only just turned 18. He can be delighted to have made his debut in the Champions League aged 17 and to have set up a goal there as well as having scored and set up goals in the Bundesliga.”

Pulisic has been linked with a move to Liverpool over the past few months and reports suggested the Reds had a €13million bid rejected for the winger in August. The youngster’s current contract runs until 2019 but the Liverpool Echo have reported that he is a long term of Jurgen Klopp, who is said to be a keen admirer, and that the Reds may return with a bid for the player next summer.
