Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Hoffenheim centre half Niklas Sule, according to Bild (via Mundo Deportivo). The German newspaper report that the La Liga have been following the 21 year old “very closely” in recent weeks.
Sule will not be allowed to leave for less than €20million after signing a contract to stay at the Bundesliga side until 2019. In the summer, the centre half declared he was not ready to move from Hoffenheim as he believed he still had a lot to learn as a defender.
In recent months, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton have had scouts at Sule’s matches, reports Bild. Atletico’s interest will depend on the outcome of their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Both Atletico and Real Madrid could be banned from buying or selling players for the next two transfer windows but the Spanish club are hoping of winning an appeal at CAS.
