Liverpool Chief Executive Ian Ayre believes that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp’s honesty and ability to take responsibility for his decisions make him a very easy person to work with.

In what looks like a slight dig against past Liverpool managers, or perhaps Huddersfield ones where he is also worked, Ayre told the Guardian that he can always have an honest and frank discussion with Klopp:

“I’ve worked with five managers at Liverpool now, and three or four at other clubs, and the reality is managers can make life difficult because they don’t want to be honest or own up to their own decisions, but there is none of that with Jürgen. We have had differences of opinion but you always feel you can have an honest conversation with Jürgen and it wouldn’t change the relationship in any way.”

Tomorrow will be Klopp’s first anniversary since he was appointed Liverpool manager and the transformation in the club in terms of belief and postivity has been notable since his arrival. He has managed to unite fans off the pitch whilst improving performances on the park. No doubt the two cup finals are the two stand out highlights so far.

Ayre meanwhile is leaving the Reds for pastures new in the summer with speculation linking him with a move Germany to join Bundesliga-2 side 1860 Munich as CEO.
