The agent of Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has rejected reports that the Frenchman has held talks about a possible move to Marseille.

Reports in France had suggested the 23 year old had a meeting with Marseille boss Rudi Garcia but his agent Jonathan Maarek told RMC Sport that not only had no meeting taken place, but it is unlikely a future move to the French club would be considered:

“We want to shed light on the alleged interest of Olympique Marseille for Geoffrey. There was absolutely no contact with the leaders of this club.To date Geoffrey is an Inter player and even if we were to think of a departure from Inter, we would not give priority to a project like OM.”

The Italian press have heavily linked Kondogbia with a move to the Premier League with both Liverpool and Chelsea believed to be in the hunt for the French international.

The arrival of a new manager Stefano Pioli to replace Frank De Boer was believed to have led to a new start for Kondogbia but transfer news portal calciomercato.com report that Kondogbia’s position has not changed, and he is expected to remain on the sidelines which will almost certainly lead to the player’s departure in January.
