Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has a €12.5million transfer release clause in his contract, according to German newspaper Express. The publication says that Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus and AC Milan are all interested in the 20 year old.

The release clause can only be activated however in 2018, when his contract only has a year left to run, in a similar deal to Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud who it is believed has a release clause of €10million which can be activated in July.

Brandt has already played four times for Germany under Joachim Low and was a member of the Olympics squad that made it all the way to the final only to lose out to Brazil in the gold medal match.

The players’s agent and father told Express that there had been interest in the player but no talks had taken place with any club:

“Of course, there is interest, but there are no negotiations or preliminary talks with other clubs. Julian decides what he is doing. This is often a decision of the gut, in which timing also plays an important role.”

He also confirmed that there will be discussions with Bayer Leverkusen next summer about a new contract.
