Liverpool are among the clubs watching Vitoria Guimaraes striker Moussa Marega, according to Footmercato.com. The French website reports that Tottenham, Watford, Sunderland, Stoke and Crystal Palace are also monitoring developments with the player.

Marega is on loan at Vitoria from Porto and has scored ten goals in eight appearances in the Portuguese Primera Liga this season. At 25, the Malian international could not be considered a young player and could be seen as somewhat of a journeyman.

Before joining Porto, Marega had spent the majority of his early career in the lower leagues of French football with Evry FC, Le Poirr-sur-Vie and Amiens. His breakthrough season came with Maritimo in Portugal last season and it convinced Porto to sign him in January, hijacking a deal when the player was set for a move to Sporting Lisbon.

Mariga however only scored one goal in the second half of last season for Porto and was moved out on loan this summer. It seems the link to Mariga then is purely down to his hot streak in front of goal this campaign which has peaked the interest of a number of Premier League sides.
