Stoke City have joined the hunt to sign Schalke full back Sead Kolasinac according to Kicker (via the Stoke Sentinel). The Bosnian international has been linked to Liverpool by German newspaper Bild, but Kicker believe the Potters are also considering a move for the 23 year old.

Kolasinac’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and is free to talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer in January, but the Bosnian has been quoted in recent days by German newspaper WAZ that he is hoping to stay in Gelsenkirchen.

The Reds have been pursuing a left back since last summer when they missed out on Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell. James Milner has been asked by Jurgen Klopp to fill in at the problem position since the start of the season.

The 30 year old told the Times (paywall) that he thought he was getting the axe in the summer when he was asked by Klopp to stay back at the end of training. The Reds boss instead asked him whether he would be comfortable switching position to full back instead.
