It seems as if Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva’s holiday trip with his wife to Italy has sparked more talk that the Brazilian could leave the Reds for one of the Milan clubs.

Lucas shared an Instagram photo with him in Italy and it has led the Corriere Dello Sport among others to say that the 29 year old could join either Inter Milan or AC Milan in the January transfer window.

The Reds veteran was linked heavily with Inter in the Italian press in the summer but that was when Roberto Mancini was in charge. The crisis ridden club have subsequently sacked both Mancini and his replacement Frank De Boer since then, with former Lazio boss Stefano Pioli becoming the Serie A side’s third manager of the season after being appointed yesterday.

Lucas meanwhile enjoyed a rare start replacing Dejan Lovren against Watford at the weekend but was unable to help the Reds keep only their second clean sheet of the season when Daryl Janmaat scored a consolation in the 6-1 win.
